OS X Leopard prediction

"Given that in the past the .9 release and the annoucnement of the next version have followed pretty closely, it seems reasonable to expect something - not the product, but the launch date - before the end of this month. That gives us a fortnight to be wrong. Anyone want to start a sweepstake on the precise day of the announcement - and of the release?"

I'm not starting a sweepstake... but i'll state my prediction...

Since
OS X 10.4.9 was released 13 March 2007...
OS X 10.5.0 was expected Q2 2007 / Spring 2007
OS X 10.5.0 should be out by June 2007
WWDC is 11-15 June 2007. They could either release 10.5 here or announce a launch date.

Thus, OS X should be released between 30 June and 23 March.

Apple does significant things only on Tuesdays and Fridays...

So this cuts the dates down to:

March 23, 27, 30
April 3, 6, 10, 13, 17, 20, 24, 27
May 1, 4, 8, 11, 15, 18, 22, 25, 29
June 1, 5, 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 19, 22, 26, 29

March will be too soon...
April may see the release of a new version of the Preview software...
May could be the month of manufacturing the DVDs... and a new Black Mac or new Mac design???
Early June will be WWDC. There, I expect XCode 3, XCode for iPhone (for partnering developers), and announcement of upcoming release of OS X 10.5.

Which leaves us with these dates...

June 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 19, 26

I think we can cut Fridays here... and leave the entire WWDC on...

Since past versions of OS X released 20th-30th day of the month...

My conclusion:

Apple's Mac OS X 10.5.0 will be
announced on 11 June 2007 at WWDC (World Wide Developers' Conference)
and be out in stores on 26 June 2007
