Gormley: 4th Plinth

Art teachers and students (past, present, future): Check this out.

If you haven't already heard, this is the latest work by Antony
Gormley. He's inviting people to stand on the 4th Plinth in Trafalgar
Square, London. This plinth is normally reserved for statues of kings
and generals, but for 100 days, 2400 different people get to be on it.
Every hour, 24h/ day, for 100 days, with no break, a different person
will go on the plinth and do something/anything they want to do there
to express themselves.

You can watch it online at the site above (there's a live webcam
stream for you to view). Interesting concept.

Oh, if you're wondering:
a) may be offensive.
b) it's legal, only because it's been endorsed by the Mayor of London
Boris Johnson (the wackiest guy with the funniest haircut/face).
c) the people get on/off the plinth by a cherrypicker. and there's a
safety net bordering the platform on the plinth so people won't fall
to their ultimate death whilst being a part of an interactive in situ
work.
